The short answer
Create a room in three steps
- Create — press Create a Free Room to open the play flow with Friends preselected.
- Share — copy the invite link and send it to your friends.
- Choose seats and rules — friends join from the link and take the remaining 2v2 seats; pick Classic or a Joker variant.
How 2v2 works
You and the player across from you are a team against the other pair. You share a bid, a score, and a contract. The table is private — no strangers, no queue. Empty seats can be filled with AI so you can start before everyone arrives.
If a connection drops
Live play is server-run, so an ordinary connection drop does not end the match. The seat waits, the player rejoins from the link, and the game continues. This is why live rooms need a free account — identity makes reconnection and fair play possible.
Social-safe basics
Private rooms are yours. You get a match recap and reactions, and the room stays limited to people you invite. See multiplayer Spades for fair-play detail, or the partnership strategy guide to sharpen your team play.

Frequently asked questions
Do my friends need an account?
Yes. Live rooms need a free account so matches stay fair, recoverable, and tied to identity for reconnection.
How many players can join?
Four for a full 2v2. Empty seats can be filled with AI so you can play with fewer people.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Share the invite link and friends join from a mobile browser.
How do I invite someone?
Create a room, copy the invite link, and send it any way you like. Friends join from the link and take a seat.
